This year is no exception! Carnatica Archival Centre is celebrating World music day at different venues this year. Since it is the longest day of the year, there is a day long celebration of music starting from 6 AM near the Gandhi Statue at the beach. It is very special that the legendary musician Dr.Balamuralikrishna, would be leading the thematic musical presentation at 5 PM at Narada Gana Sabha conducted in association with Sri Parthasarathy swami Sabha . The oxygen band comprising of a set of highly talented, young musicians led by music director Girinandh would be adding color to the event with contemporary music at the citi centre mall.

The idea of the event is to take music from where it evolved, the nature, to where it is nurtured, The Sabhas. So it is apt that the event begins at the beach with an invocation to nature as a dedication to global peace and harmony. Likewise, the glory of Carnatic music that has been prevalent for over 2000 years has been treasured by Sabhas like Sri Partha Sarathy Swami Sabha, an organization that is over hundred years old and Narada Gana Sabha, a top notch music organization. It is special that organizations like these and all the leading musicians are coming together to make the event a grand celebration of music.
